Presumably this is a photograph of a portrait painting. Could beNathaniel S. Hand who lived in Amagansett, born 1823 and died 1888, although attire is more Federalist era, making it more likely to be Nathaniel Hand (son of Nathaniel Esq. and Esther Conklin Hand), born in 1776 and died in 1861, who also lived in Amagansett.
