This interview was originally conducted by Tony Prohaska as part of his research on Deep Hollow Ranch, but Prohaska abandoned that book project and decided to include this interview in the History Project, Inc. Springs Oral History Project interviews. Surprisingly, very little of the interview focuses on Deep Hollow Ranch. More attention is paid to Mary Gosman's experiences as an immigrant from Ireland, and the stories of other immigrants who worked for Gosman's. Mary speaks mainly about her experiences as an immigrant, her children, and daily life in East Hampton, Amagansett, and Montauk. Additional attention is given to prominent local residents.
